Hey guys I'm going to Rome...NY!

Hey yall!! It's been so crazy!! But I love Rome NY so much and I hope as the weeks go by I can get better at the directions and stuff cause my whole mission is driving whoo hoo! At first I didn't wanna driving mission but everything in Rome is so spread apart that driving is nice but anyways I'll get to my email!

Thursday: Thursday was the day I escaped from the mtc and ended up in NY!! It was hard leaving my old comp but my new one Sister Nelson is soooo awesome too! But before I met her i was so nervous! But then when I got called with her and I heard we were going to Rome I got really excited! That day we had an awesome miracle at the supermarket, the first person we talk to is interested in going to church and is the sweetest! She's and older woman named Nacy! And Let me tell you I have a thing with old ladies! Like they all flock to me..jk jk they all are awesome beautiful women who are ready and eager to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ! And old ladies have such Christ like love that the spirit around them is so strong! But anyways before meeting her we met up with Frank and Jone and they were both big talkers but I hope we were able to help them a bit as we talked about the positives of serving others.

Friday: We helped at a resuse place and talked to an older lady named Jen.. well that wasn't her real name but I can't pronounce her real name soo.. I nick named her Jen! But she was so sweet and it was fun talking to her about her life! Then she brought me and Sister Nelson some lunch so she's the GOAT fs. But after that we knocked on doors that day, went to the gas station but no one wanted to talk about Jesus with us but it's okay, sometimes you just gotta brush it off.

Saturday: Saturday was great! I'm so glad I journal cause honestly I forgot what happened but I'll check real quick.. oh yeah so my comp was a little sick but she is such a hard worker that she refused to rest at all! So we met Markie on the phone! Markie is the sweetest old lady and she talked to us about her grandson and how she wants to come closer to christ! Love Markie! And I hope she wants to go to church soon! The phone call was so spiritual me and Sister Nelson couldn't stop smiling after the call!

Sunday: So two awesome people interested in the church Josh and Maggie came to church and they had a lot of fun with the cute ward! Love how small the ward is here caus see everyone connects so well but I still wanna invite everyone I can to come to church so they can feel God's love for them! My comp played the flute while Brendan took the piano and it was so peaceful! This little girl named Scarlet kept tugging on my sleeve and telling me she loved me! I promise everyone that the love you feel at church is like nothing else! I can't wait to bring more people to church! After church we had dinner with the Hams! Yep there last name is Hams! They are awesome! Then after that we made two new older lady friends! January and Christina! Can't wait to meet them in person!

Love you all! - Sister Hodges ♡

A Chaotic Week

Hey ya'll! This is my second email and this week has been so busy and I love the MtC so it's gonna be hard to leave but i'm also excited to go out to Syracuse New York!

Sunday: We had a spiritual activity called go and do where we were told that we got two hours to ourselves to ponder and read the scripturs to anwser our questions. I decided to study about the plan of Salvation and made a cute diagram in my journal so that was fun.

Monday: On monday we had a service project in the morning and me and Sister Simpson were asked to clean the stair railings...so we cleaned every inch of the railings even though apparently we were only supposed to clean the top one sooo..we only got one chore done but we did extra work.

Tuesday: Tuesday was pretty speacial, me and Sister Simpson the others sisters and a couple of the Elders were in the choir together! The choir conductor decided it would be a good idea to put all of us in the choir on a sceen so the whole MTC could see us durig the devotional. So when we practiced the first time with the sceen a couple of the Elders couldn't keep a straight face when the camera fell on them. But thankfully during the actual devotional everyone on screen was able to pull it together! Shout out to the Elders who made it on the screen! The devo was super spiritual and I felt the spirit so strong when everyone sang "Army of Helaman" we also changed the lyrics to say " We are now the lords missionaries" instead of " We will be the lords missionaries" so that was really cool to hear.

Wednesday: I felt the spirit so much Wednesday and had so much motivation. Me and Sister Simpson taught one of our helping oters and did a great job besides us going way over time.

Thursday: I honestly don't remember what appened this day but im sure it was great.

Friday: Today was chatic but it was also cool cause it was my first ime doing sealings in the temple. We went to the Mnt. Timpangous temple and even though I fell asleep during one part of the sealing and felt super embarassed because I woke up and said "What did I do?" in the middle of a session.

But anyway thats my email thanks for reading:)

Love, Sister Hodges 🫶🏼

Oh I also met my second cousin, Logan Hodges! He's a teacher at the MTC!
